HiToms see 4-game winning streak snapped following 9-1 loss to Asheboro

High Point-Thomasville saw its 4-game winning streak snapped following a 9-1 loss to the Asheboro Copperheads at Finch Field Sunday night.

The Copperheads scored four runs in the top of the 1st inning and four more in the top of the 4th to pull away from the HiToms. Asheboro used three home runs and four HiTom errors to take control of the game.

HPT scored its lone run of the contest in the bottom of the 2nd on an RBI single by Charlotte's Jacob Whitley that scored Gardner-Webb's JP McGuire. Whitley and Winston-Salem State's Luke Spiva each had multi-hit games to lead the HiToms.




The HiToms will be off for two days before getting back to action at Historic Finch Field Wendesday night at 7:00 - gates open at 6:00. It's Shuler Meats Dollar Night - featuring $1 hot dogs, $1 fountain drinks, and $1.50 beer.
