HiToms get 5-2 win in rain-shortened game over Asheboro

Kip Brandenburg and Danny Lynch struck for back-to-back home runs as the HiToms got back on track with a 5-2 win in a rain-shortened game over the Asheboro Copperheads.

The HiToms got out to a nice start as Myles Christian reached on an infield single, and came around to score on an RBI triple off the hot bat of Josh Baker, who finished with three hits for HPT. Riley Isenhour earned the win with a quality start for HPT. He was dominant for the HiToms after giving up a leadoff homer, allowing only two earned runs on four hits over six innings.

Christian would break a 1-1 tie between the two sides with a solo home run in the third, his second of the season. After Asheboro tied the game in the fifth, Brandenburg and Lynch would strike to provide the difference in the game.

The HiToms travel back home to host Lexington County on Wednesday and Forest City on Thursday.

Join the HiToms at Finch Field on Wednesday for our rescheduled Bark in the Park Night, as well as our weekly Shuler Meats Dollar Night. Thursday's game will feature a pregame concert presented by the 3 Heath Brothers. Gates will open at 5:30 and the concert begins for 5:45.
